Śrīla Prabhupāda instructed his devotees to translate his books into all languages. In a letter to one of his GBC managers, Śrīla Prabhupāda writes:
"Please print as many books as possible, this is my real pleasure. By printing these books of our Krsna Conscious philosophy in so many different languages... We can literally turn whole nations into Krsna Conscious nations.... Please continue like this to print books in all the languages for the benefit of suffering, misdirected humanity."
The Bhagavad-gītā is universally renowned as the jewel of India's spiritual wisdom. Spoken by Lord Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead to His intimate disciple Arjuna, the Gita's seven hundred concise verses provide a definitive guide to the science of self realization. No other philosophical or religious work reveals, in such a lucid and profound way, the nature of consciousness, the self, the universe and the Supreme.
Śrīla Prabhupāda’s books are the most significant contribution to the world. His writings have been translated into over fifty languages. Highly respected by the academic community for their authoritativeness, depth and clarity, they are used as standard textbooks in numerous college courses. His Divine Grace has written over sixty volumes of authoritative translations, commentaries and summary studies of the philosophical and religious classics of India.
"This knowledge is the king of education, the most secret of all secrets. It is the purest knowledge, and because it gives direct perception of the self by realization, it is the perfection of religion. It is everlasting and it is joyfully performed." (BG 9.2)
Śrīla Prabhupāda's original Bhagavad Gita As It Is presents and explains the Gita's verses without changing their timeless meaning. This complete edition includes the original Sanskrit verses, easily pronounceable Roman transliterations, word-for-word synonyms , translations and elaborate purports. Pure knowledge, purely transmitted.
"I am very glad to learn that you are translating the Bhagavad-gita. Be careful not to change anything but present it exactly as it is. This is how we receive Bhagavad-gita through the disciplic succession as stated in the Fourth Chapter. By this translating work you will learn our philosophy very nicely. It is very important to broadcast Krishna consciousness all over the world. This is the great need of modern civilization." (Srila Prabhupada Letter to Frederico, Oct 24, 1974)
