From the Preface of The Nectar of Devotion: “No one can live without loving someone else. This propensity is present in every living being. Even an animal like a tiger has this loving propensity at least in a dormant stage, and it is certainly present in the human beings. The missing point, however, is where to repose our love so that everyone can become happy. At the present moment the human society teaches one to love his country or family or his personal self, but there is no information where to repose the loving propensity so that everyone can become happy. That missing point is Kṛṣṇa, and The Nectar of Devotion teaches us how to stimulate our original love for Krsna and how to be situated in that position where we can enjoy our blissful life.”

Śrī Rūpa Gosvāmī was the leader of all the Gosvāmīs, and to guide our activities he gave us this Upadeśāmṛta (The Nectar of Instruction) to follow. As Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu left behind Him the eight verses known as Śikṣāṣṭaka, Rūpa Gosvāmī gave us Upadeśāmṛta so that we may become pure Vaiṣṇavas.
In all spiritual affairs, one’s first duty is to control his mind and senses. Unless one controls his mind and senses, one cannot make any advancement in spiritual life. Everyone within this material world is engrossed in the modes of passion and ignorance. One must promote himself to the platform of goodness, sattva-guṇa, by following the instructions of Rūpa Gosvāmī, and then everything concerning how to make further progress will be revealed.

Easy-Journey-to-Other-PlanetsEasy Journey to Other Planets

Download: Easy Journey to Other Planets ePUB Edition (1.4Mb)

From the Preface of the book: A living being, especially civilized man, has a natural desire to live forever in happiness. This is quite natural because, in his original state, the living being is both eternal and joyful. However, in the present conditioned state of life, he is engaged in a struggle against recurring birth and death. Therefore he has attained neither happiness nor immortality. The latest desire man has developed is the desire to travel to other planets. This is also quite natural, because he has the constitutional right to go to any part of the material or spiritual skies. Such travel is very tempting and exciting because these skies are full of unlimited globes of varying qualities, and they are occupied by all types of living entities. The desire to travel there can be fulfilled by the process of yoga, which serves as a means by which one can transfer himself to whatever planet he likes—possibly to planets where life is not only eternal and blissful, but where there are multiple varieties of enjoyable energies. Anyone who can attain the freedom of the spiritual planets need never return to this miserable land of birth, old age, disease and death. One can attain this stage of perfection very easily by his individual effort. He can simply follow, in his own home, the prescribed method of bhakti-yoga. This method, under proper guidance, is simple and enjoyable. An attempt is made herein to give information to the people in general, and to philosophers and religionists in particular, as to how one can transfer oneself to other planets by this process of bhakti-yoga—the highest of all yogic processes.

Krishna-Book-OneKṛṣṇa – The Supreme Personality of Godhead Volume One

DownloadKṛṣṇa Volume One   ePUB Edition (1Mb)

In the Western countries, when someone sees the cover of a book like Kṛṣṇa, he immediately asks, “Who is Kṛṣṇa? Who is the girl with Kṛṣṇa?” etc. The immediate answer is that Kṛṣṇa is the Supreme Personality of Godhead. How is that? Because He conforms in exact detail to descriptions of the Supreme Being, the Godhead. In other words, Kṛṣṇa is the Godhead because He is all-attractive. Outside the principle of all-attraction, there is no meaning to the word “Godhead.” How is it one can be all-attractive? First of all, if one is very wealthy, if he has great riches, he becomes attractive to the people in general. Similarly, if someone is very powerful, he also becomes attractive, and if someone is very famous, he also becomes attractive, and if someone is very beautiful or wise or unattached to all kinds of possessions, he also becomes attractive. So from practical experience we can observe that one is attractive due to (1) wealth, (2) power, (3) fame, (4) beauty, (5) wisdom and (6) renunciation. One who is in possession of all six of these opulences at the same time, who possesses them to an unlimited degree, is understood to be the Supreme Personality of Godhead. These opulences of the Godhead are delineated by Parāśara Muni, a great Vedic authority. We have seen many rich persons, many powerful persons, many famous persons, many beautiful persons, many learned and scholarly persons, and persons in the renounced order of life unattached to material possessions. But we have never seen any one person who is unlimitedly and simultaneously wealthy, powerful, famous, beautiful, wise and unattached, like Kṛṣṇa, in the history of humanity. Kṛṣṇa, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, is a historical person who appeared on this earth 5,000 years ago. He stayed on this earth for 125 years and played exactly like a human being, but His activities were unparalleled. From the very moment of His appearance to the moment of His disappearance, every one of His activities is unparalleled in the history of the world, and therefore anyone who knows what we mean by Godhead will accept Kṛṣṇa as the Supreme Personality of Godhead. No one is equal to the Godhead, and no one is greater than Him. That is the import of the familiar saying “God is great.”

Krishna-Book-TwoSRIGOURANGA SMARANAMANGALA
Chaitanya Mahaprabhu – His Life and Precepts
by Kedarnath Dutt Bhaktivinod
(Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura)
– Facsimile Edition –

The original book from, published in 1896, was sent by the author to various libraries and universities in the western world, such as McGill University in Montreal, Canada. The original book contained the Sanskrit version entitled “Srimad Gourangalila-Smaranamangal-Stotram” in addition to the English text. Unfortunately, the scanned pages of the original at our disposal were of inferior technical quality. We therefore decided to publish this English-only version first.

This facsimile edition is based on scans from an original specimen printed in 1896. Out of deep respect for the author, Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura, the original text has been taken from the original without any changes—As It Is. That includes a few typesetting errors, perceived inconsistency in the use of Italics, and generous use of white spaces around punctuation marks. The only exception to this are 5 instances based on handwritten corrections on the original pages. After a thorough research we concluded that these correction were either made by the author himself, or at least sanctioned by him. You will find images of these at the bottom of this page.
Although the layout and typesetting of this edition were done “from scratch” we worked hard to maintain the “look and feel” of the original. The typefaces used in this publication are either a very close match, or are, as in the case of the main text typeface, a direct descendent of the original.

The ePUB-Format

Please note, that the provided ePUB books are not a product of some dubious automatic conversion from another format – which tends to bloat the files with superfluous and often erroneous code, and “gremlins”.) Every single chapter is hand-coded to produce lean and clean ePUBs.

Technical Information:

ePUB books can be read on almost any modern electronic device: Dedicated e-book reading devices, iPads and Android tablet PCs via Apps, plus laptop and desktop computers.

ePUBs are all about reflowable content and not about fixed layout. Very much like the web content that you see in your Browser on the internet. In fact, ePUB “pages” are structured and formatted by the very same languages that make up web pages – HTML and CSS.

Our books have fonts embedded to assure that you see correct diacritical characters for Indic scripts. If you choose to override this on your favourite reading device, make sure therefore that you choose an appropriate font (with diacritics for indic scripts, that is).

The default text alignment in our titles is flush left. This is because fully justified text can be an ugly experience if the App or device does not support hyphenation. Again, your device might be capable of overriding this – displaying justified text with hyphenation just fine. Apple’s iBook App for instance can do that.
